Athletic Youth Club (AYC)

Weekly Athletic Development Programme

Build Better Movers for Life

The Athletic Youth Club (AYC) is an evidence-informed long-term athletic development programme designed to help children become stronger, faster, more coordinated and more confident through expert coaching in a fun and supportive environment.

AYC develops the physical foundations that underpin success across all sports and physical activity. Whether your child plays football, rugby, cricket, netball, athletics, gymnastics or simply enjoys being active, our programme develops the athletic qualities that benefit every young person for sport, physical education and everyday life.

Our structured programme is built around the principles of long-term athletic development, ensuring children develop at the right pace for their age and stage of development. Every session is carefully planned using the latest research and evidence-informed coaching practices to improve speed, coordination, strength, balance, agility, movement skills and physical literacy, while building confidence, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of being active.

Unlike many children's sports programmes, at AYC every athlete's development is tracked throughout the programme using age-appropriate performance assessments, allowing both athletes and parents to see measurable progress over time.

AYC is delivered by highly experienced youth athletic development specialists who understand how children learn, grow and develop. Our coaching creates a positive environment where every child is challenged appropriately, encouraged to enjoy the process and supported to reach their individual potential.

Above all, we believe that fun in the fundamentals is never forgotten. When children enjoy training, they learn more, move better and build habits that last a lifetime.

The AYC F.U.N.D. Framework

Everything we do is underpinned by our F.U.N.D. Framework, ensuring every session develops the complete young athlete.

F – Functional Movement
Developing the fundamental movement skills that underpin athletic performance.

U – Understanding Movement
Teaching athletes how and why they move, building confidence and movement competence.

N – Neural Development
Improving coordination, balance, rhythm, reaction speed and the connection between the brain and body.

D – Decision Making
Developing adaptable athletes who can react, solve movement challenges and perform confidently in dynamic environments.
